On 11 February, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science will be held for the second time in Estonia, initiated here by the University of Tartu and the Estonian Young Academy of Sciences.
The crisis sociology research group of the University of Tartu Institute of Social Studies and European researchers studied how the care organisations of nine European countries coped during the coronavirus crisis, showing their resilience in providing support to people who had fallen into economic difficulties during the crisis or were already in a vulnerable situation.
International awareness of influential research by scientists from the University of Tartu has increased significantly over the last 100 years, as reflected in the number of studies whose results have been published in the pre-eminent magazines Nature and Science.
