From 14 April to 18 June, all members of the university family, alumni, their families and anyone else are invited to complete an orienteering course to discover places associated with the history of learning psychology in Tartu and at the University of Tartu.
Psychology as a full-time major specialisation began to be taught at the University of Tartu in 1968, when a number of future psychology legends started their studies in the Psychology Department. On 14 April, the 50th anniversary of their graduation was celebrated with an alumni conference entitled “Changing world, changing psychology”.
This spring’s orienteering event gives an opportunity to find out more about the places and people related to the history of learning psychology in Tartu. The course comprising 17 checkpoints was created by the staff of the institute. The course is feasible for everyone – one can pass any number of checkpoints in any order and at a pace suitable for them. No time will be taken: the goal is simply to enjoy physical exercise outdoors.
