At its meeting on December 18, the Council of the University of Tartu’s Faculty of Economics and Business Administration elected Associate Professor of Accounting Kertu Lääts as the new Head of the Faculty.

The newly elected director said that the University of Tartu School of Law has a special mission to ensure the raising of a new generation of Estonian lawyers.

Margit Keller will assume the office of the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences on 1 January 2024.

On 3 October, the faculties’ electoral bodies elected new deans for the University of Tartu. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Anti Selart, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Margit Keller, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Külli Kingo, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Leho Ainsaar will assume office on 1 January 2024.

Candidates for the Deanship of the Faculty of Social Sciences will meet staff and students on 27 September.

On 12 September, the commission formed for the dean elections registered the dean candidates of the university’s four faculties.

Today, on 17 August, the council of the Faculty of Social Sciences convened to discuss the rector’s motion to express no confidence in Dean Raul Eamets to dismiss him from the position of dean before the end of his employment contract as professor.

At its session on 26 May, the University of Tartu senate elected Garri Raagmaa as the Director of Pärnu College.
